Town of Ashland, Maine

Ashland is a small town located in the Northwest of Aroostook County in Maine with a population of 1,202 at the 2020 census.  

The town has a total area of 81.54 square miles of which 80.41 is land and 1.13 is water.  Surrounding towns and townships are Masardis, Oxbow Plantation, Portage, Nashville Plantation and Garfield Plantation.  

A little history of Ashland is in the 1830’s William Dalton became the Euro-American to establish residency at the site of the future town of “Ashland”.  It was incorporated as a town in 1862 under the name of AshlandÂ
